I use Ubuntu 8.10 Desktop (just upgraded from 8.04), packages involved
in this are (AFAIK):
- nautilus 2.24.1
- gdebi-gtk 0.3.13
When I try to install a deb package on a remote filesystem by double
clicking on it, the package installer fails an

After of to read a lot of forum where I have installed several codecs, I was
trying with gstreamer0.10-plugins-bad
($ aptitude show gstreamer0.10-plugins-bad), I have re-initialized totem and
rhythmbox but none of them works !!

Yes, it does. However is very strange because when I try to heard some
radio on line the sound doesn't work. Maybe I am doing something wrong
but I can't find the right way if this is the situation. I need help.

Yes, same thing here on Ubuntu 8.04 beta.
I was able to reproduce the bug using the procedure posted by Bogdan
Butnaru above, but it's not the only time this happens, it's rather
frequent actually.
It happens on two different computers:
- fresh install of Hardy Beta on a laptop computer
- upgra

I have the same problem.
I'm not able to drag application icons from the left side bar (i don't know the
correct name) and also from the "super" button that lists of all contents.

Same here on my fresh Karmic installation (x86_64), using a Seagate
Barracuda ST31500341AS. I also tried the 32 bit version of Karmic and
got the the same results.

how. As I said above I ran SeaTools for Windows' "Long Generic Test" and
it didn't report any problems (you can find the log file in my previous
post) while palimpsest reports 466 bad sectors (see attached

Thanks Daniele, I think you're right: in the last 12 hours I performed
long tests with smartctl on Linux and HDDScan on Windows and got the
exact same results. It's a real bummer though, I bought the drive 10
months ago...
