Since I had a lot of such problems, I decided to stick to the Lucid LTS
version. The problem hasn't shown since, but I can't, therefore, tell
whether it occurs in newer releases, too.

I have about the same problem since I upgraded to Maverick, only it isn't
related to the radio but happens with any audio I play. After a variable amount
of time (sometimes it works a whole day, but sometimes only a few minutes) the
audio starts to become scrambled, with the interlapping blocks
OK, this is just the same in totem, when playing audio files. The audio in
video files seems to work normally, though.
No idea, what this means now, but very probably rhythmbox isn't the source then.

As with that bug, playing videos normally worked, but today suddenly no videos

Ah, damn, I don't think I'll be able to. As stated above, I reinstalled
the rhythmbox package and now everything seems to work normally. I've
appended the flag to my starter and if the error occurs again, I'll
attach the debug output here, but otherwise I fear that this will remain
unresolved.
