You can override the problem with a second plugged mouse too, if you
move it only one pixel at after startup the mousepointer appears and
stay until shutdown.

No, nautilus is not frozen. I can call nautilus from the gnome-terminal (on my
desktop) and remove the bookmark to the FTP-server. This is also the easiest
thing to do, to get back to a usable desktop (after a reboot).

To reproduce:
Pick an arbitrary pdf file (locally or from some internet website) and
choose 'Save a Copy' from the menu. Now, either choose the cancel or the
save button and Evince will hang.

I have what seems to be a the same problem:
I have g-p-m configured suchly:
On AC: When Lid is Closed: Hibernate
On Battery: When Lid is Closed: Hibernate
I have suspended my laptop successfully by closing the lid.
If I do the following:
plug in power
resume
pull power
THEN it hibernates

I have a Xinerama setup with two monitors. When gdm starts, it puts the
login screen on the left monitor, and the right monitor is inactive (a
shade of dark brown). Gdm (or the X server, I don't know) also puts the
mouse pointer in the middle of the two screens, which happens

The default Ubuntu login screen in Dapper puts an option button in the
lower left corner of the screen. However, the region for that button
extends almost (but not quite) to the lower left pixel of the screen,
making access to that button with the mouse slower than necessary.
