This seems to be related:
I have the weather applet installed, and it doesn't always update,
sometimes going for days without doing so. If I remove the applet and
re-add it, then the update is performed. I can confirm that my
networking is fine.

I have the same problem on amd64. My (8.10) system is fully patched. I
am using a PS2 Logitech mouse.

I get this problem too, when mounting an Archos 604 (Portable Media
Player). it does contain some pictures, but mostly films.

Hi,
Hope this hasn't been reported , before. I have just noticed that the
wastebasket icon in my 'system tray' appears to be full, when Nautilus
indicates that files don't exist in that directory.
I am using Dapper on x86 arch.
(Linux aslan 2.6.15-25-386 #1 PREEMPT Wed Jun
Restarting X cures this problem. It's as if the recycle bin forgot to
check itself, at some point. Restarting X forces this check to occur.
