Per explicit request of Mark Shuttleworth: here is "data" on where my

Public bug reported:
Since hardy, the gnome mixer and gnome-sound-properties don't choose the
right device to turn down the volume. It chooses "0 : Realtek ALC660

Sorry, I didn't want to hurt you. Do you still need a sreenshot? The

Here is another screenshot. On edgy it works very well and I have
nothing to configure. Moreover, I didn't found any menu to configure the
volume key. Here is what I get on edgy (where the voulme keys control
the pcm track).
Thanks.
** Attachment added: "Right configuration on edgy by default"
Well, it's really a bug. Configuring it in the gnome -sound-properties
dialog doesn't change anything. The volume keys still control the 'line-
in" sound track.
Here is the screenshot : the volume keys control the line-in (entrée

Oh, I'm sorry! I didn't understand it! Here is the right screenshot.
Now it seems to work fine when I select the pcm sound track. However it doesn't
"just work". I would be nice to get the pcm sound track selected by default in
