Since 8.04, this bug appeared only in 11.04alpha.
My PC is a Fujitsu-Siemens Stylistic ST5022D tablet, with i855gm
graphics, which (since Ubuntu 10.04) does not feature anymore xv
acceleration.
.xsession-errors says something like:
Cannot register the panel shell: there is already one running.
I restored the panel doing only:
killall gnome-panel
gnome-panel &
and they appeared again. This means that it was a gnome-panel bug.

Trying to open Empathy results in nothing. Opening in a terminal
provides this output:

Usually those notes are stored in a folder called ".tomboy", in your
home directory (eg. "/home/CyJambo/.tomboy") . You can look there if
they're still stored and open them with a text editor. The folder is
hidden -all the folders started with "." are, so just select in nautilus

I am experiencing the same problem in a fresh amd64 installation of
lucid. The bug persists after upgrading to maverick. I would paste the
strace of gnome-session and X applications but is the same as the ones
pasted above (apps get stuck reading from /tmp/.ICE-unix and gnome-
session gets stuck in
I've been experiencing this issue since I changed my user password.
Solved:
Followed post #24 indications and now I can properly restart and shutdown.

By the way, as I side effect I was not able to mount other disk
partitions or removable media. Disabling auto login for my user solved
both problems at once.

I am seeing the same problem in Fedora SilverBlue 38 and Fedora SilverBlue 39.
The problem is restricted to `btrfs` only; other partitions such as
ext3, ext4, NTFS look fine.

maps in the browser and try to get my location by touching the bullseye
in the page. This is the backtrace I see:

The crash happens when trying to call gnss_sv_status_cb(), which appears

Which all seems to be the same. I also rebooted, and things are still
wrong. 32 bit system too.
Which I have just noticed (I didn't tested it until now) is that this
