Is this solved at all? As of today, I still see some pdf files -but not others
(how to tell the difference?) rendering improperly in evince.
When the text is selected, the text is suddenly smooth and nice; when
deselected, it's all sketchy and rough.

I use the defaults for edgy. this is a 1280x800 screen, but I am using
a second screen with xinerama. I don't recall this ever happening when
working on a single screen. no transparent panel, no background image,
and not sure about the masking, but I definitely didn't change any of
the defaults tha
This only happens the first type one clicks on it. If you right click
on the right space, and refresh it, then the second time you click on
the tab to expand the window, it works.
Maybe it's a feature but it looks a bit inconsistent.

I start a new session and open a few applications. All is good.
Then I close the lid and the computer goes to sleep.
After opening the lid the computer wakes up, ok.
Then I try to launch any applications: it does not happen.

applications I had tried to launch before suddenly launched. There is
*whatever* stopping them all from launching (happened both times yesterday as
well, but I was not patient enough to wait 15 minutes).

My system has changed so much, it's hard to tell anymore. I'm runny edgy
and so far so good. Definitely dragging a folder to the trash from the
master HD is no problem. Can't test with slave drive because I don't
have it anymore. USB pens seem to work just fine with trashing folders.

My concern is that they change the pdftotext output.
I though they where for a) speed b) text selection so i'd prefer if they

I pushed this and also some code to differentiate between an unknown and
an untrusted issuer (no idea what's the difference but if nss has this
difference i feel we also have to)

So we're stuck on "need to use the offset" part, right?
Could someone try to do make the code use it even if we don't have any
pdf that needs it?

Ubuntu is not packaging poppler 0.24.4 because it carries Source and
Binary incompatible changes and thus upstream increased the soversion.
Meanwhile Ubuntu has decided to apply pdftops-origpagesizes-fixes.diff
that is Source and Binary incompatible without caring if it break
ok, if adobe does the same maybe it makes sense. Are you making the qt-
ps-converters do the same too?

Not a biggie since it's a "broken" file, but when running pdftops on
page 30 of https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=9910 the
unpatched version creates something that gs can read (even if ends up
beign empty) while the patched version creates something that makes gs
unhappy. Can you have
