suddenly? Do you have another operating system, does it work in that?
how about trying another application, like movie player. Or maybe
trying different speakers? all these need to be tried.

When you right-click on a window title, where it has the options like
minimize, maximize, always on top, etc, the two radio buttons 'Always on
visible workspace' and 'Only on this workspace' should be changed to a
checkbox like the 'Always on top
The checkbox should say 'Always on Visible Workspace'. Now that I look
at it, the 'On' in Always On Top should be lowercase - 'Always on Top'

When opening a new tab in gnome-terminal with Shift+Ctrl+T or doing it
through the menu bar, terminal freezes for about 3-4 seconds and then
the new tab appears. That makes working with tabs a bit annoying,
