Same problem, "gksu gnome-terminal" and "sudo gnome-terminal" not start
the Terminal!
"gnome-terminal" is ready for use the Terminal!

So, my problem for the language packages de and fr is close:
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install language-pack-gnome-de language-pack-gnome-de-base
-o DPkg::options::="--force-overwrite" # for German Users
and
sudo apt-get install language-pack-gnome-fr language-pack-gnome-fr-base
-o DPk
