I'm using Ubuntu 9.04 (desktop editiion) on Asus Eee PC 1000H.
Everything is default: Gnome and all patches installed.
I observe two problems:
1) State of brightness applet is not synchronized with real monitor
brightness. Let me describe in details: Fn+F5 and Fn+F6 combinat
The problem exists in Karmic Koala too: brightness applet is not in sync
with real state

After transition to snap the Chromium is not usable for me. I have a lot
of PDFs with hyperlinks and they stopped working. Is there any
workaround other then migrating to deb Chrome?

I confirm that on my Dell XPS 13 night light does not work in Waylay
session. All is OK in with XOrg. I'm using Ubuntu 19.10, new
installation.

I have the same problem with Wine applications. Ubuntu 19.10, both X11
and Wayland sessions. Copy/paste works very inconsistent.

I do not have any GNOME shell extension, and extensions are disable in
"Tweaks", but problem with copy paste/paste exits.
I can also confirm that double-copy works in some cases.

I'm using Karmic Koala (all updates are installed on September 10,
2009). The problem is that Totem (playing AVI file) almost always hangs
when I close Totem's window. The bug is not 100% reproducible, but 7
times of 10 it hangs. The version in Ubuntu 9.04 used to work great,

I also vote for icons in menu. I have a feeling that Gnome people are
copying Mac OS X. Mac OS X doesn't have icons in menu, but nobody said
that this looks sexy. Please do not follow dumb OS X way. Please return
icons. My current Ubuntu menu looks unprofessional. Why "Add/Remove
Applications" has
