I had so much trouble with playlists that I don't use them any more. I
navigate to a directory and use CTRL-A to select everything, then click
ADD. It seems to work well with none of the problems that playlists
have.

I get the same symptom with flv files, anything from youtube. Changing
screen size might get a picture to flash, or it might work normally and
then fail again when the file is replayed. Sometimes totem loads a file
and then abruptly quits. I mean a file that I have played before.

Yes, the program still hangs occasionally at random
times. Other times it gives the "Error reading source"
message. This happens about once a day.

I keep getting "no such file found." The file is on my desktop and I
have never figured out how to address a file from the command line.
Totem will play all the files today, except WMV files which still cause
the program to abort.
