Can you make another way to add a Desktop icon in wayland, so that it goes by
default next to the document and not custom added by the user?
It's just that we don't use Ubuntu with the vanilla gnome, so having a desktop
icon in the sidebar is very important

Well I found a solution when I downloaded the breeze theme I got breeze-
cursor instead of a white square when I use dmz-white in wayland when I
move the cursor to dash to panel. It is also the default cursor in xorg.

Yesterday I upgraded to maverick and today experienced layout switching bug.
Not sure if it relates to the original xserver because I immediately installed
patched version kindly provided by Oded Arbel.

The log file is absolutely flooded with errors like:

Sorry, that's not really practical to do on a production system.
That said, the issue could have been because there wasn't enough disk
space. Clearing it up and rebooting seems to have solved things. This is
a change in behaviour from previous Ubuntu releases.

The VM would be using VirtualBox drivers, not NVIDIA - so I don't think
your problem is related!

Hmm. What I did was load into recovery mode which allowed me to install and
uninstall packages - there I uninstalled lightgdm and ran the suggested
dpkg-config command to setup gdm.

You can also do all of the commands from the rescue mode.
What is concerning is that this major issue is still left untouched. Is

18.10, bug is still here! It's a very basic experience - Ubuntu with
Gnome3 can't make even such simple basic things work! What can we say

Should be hight priority bug. A lot of input fields have some behaviour
for loosing focus. E.g. search field in gedit disappear when changing
keyboard layout, guake with autohide is unusable because of this bug, a
lot of web applications have problems etc. In fact, now there are a lot

It's grave news for me to hear that X11 is the major problem here. Would
it be better if your publish it in Ubuntu FAQ (or elsewhere) and close
all these bugs with "won't fix" to make community realize the point?
