With compiz running, open the menu editor and click 'new item'. The
window appears directly behind the menu editor and is visible on the
window list bar. Metacity appears to place the 'new item' window

Okay, when the window is maximized it appears behind the menu editor,

Compiz makes 'new item' window
I suggest raising the priority on this, when using an any sized menu
editor on Compiz or a maximized menu editor on metacity it appears
directly behind the menu editor window.

Yes, still a problem in latest feisty, if you hover over it you can see
that it's making that menu item bigger than all the other ones.

In latest Feisty, going to Applications-Internet has 'GNOME BitTorrent'
menu entry visible. I believe this was hidden for a reason pre-Feisty,
so maybe this is a bug and not a design choice. Feel free to close this
if it's intentional.
