I just ran into this problem trying to mount a SD card. ALL of my filesystems, except for one, are ext3. One is ext4. My root filesystem is ext3. So, two of the above workarounds look better to me than manually creating /media/$USER. Which would be best: A) Adding 'tmpfs/media tmpfs
