it seems to affect me too. i created a text document on the desktop,
then every time i tried to open it by double clicking it, gedit crashed.
when i opened gedit using the terminal an THEN clicked it, it opened
alright. when i closed gedit and double-clicked the file again, it still
works.

Yes, there's still no information on the inability to edit tags on .mpc
files that I have (and I still can't edit them using rhythmbox; in fact,
for some files, the tags are not even properly displayed (yet they're
there, since easytag does read them alright).

On the other hand, it does seem like the conversion actually works
properly now (at least for mpc files).

Thanks a lot Rafael, your suggestion solved my problem. :)
Specifically, I needed those to set up keyboard shortcuts in lubuntu. They work

GP Frello's comment related to the bug in 10.04. the comment still
stands: hovering over the tray icon seems to do nothing, i'm not sure if
it's intended or not, but if it is, that and changing the behavior with
respect to clicking the tray icon deals quite a blow to accessibility
imo.

one more thing i've found out - if brightness controls do work at all,
the dim/bright bug doesn't occur during system loading and in the logon
