As a member of Xubuntu Team, I'm objecting to this landing as a Feature
Freeze Exception as there is inadequate time to test this to ensure it
works for 14.10. This is landing awfully late and as this is only a 9
months of support release we could avoid risks rushing it out now by
having it wait f

Did a clean install of the most recent daily to disk. Tested both
PCManFM & Thunar. Sadly was able to reproduce. Installed and tested
Xfe which does not depend upon GVFS. Xfe does not exhibit faulty
behavior but also does not utilize GVFS.
