I was switching resolutions to test a website, and noticed my computer

Okay so actually, this is an ATI/Xorg issue. I disabled the proprietary
driver, and it works fine, both with gnome-display and xrandr. Now, with
the proprietary driver (that I just enabled again), even xrandr slows
the computer to display, ran without arguments.

It seems to be related yes, I made a patched libxcb for bug 277069 and
it solved the issue.
Though the difference here is that firefox showed the bug for both
intrepid and jaunty while that inkscape and gimp issue only showed up
with jaunty.

I can confirm this bug. It also affects all LTSP deployments where we
have the USB keys and CDROM mounted using fuse (ltspfs) over the
network. The user doesn't have the right to unmount them directly and so
the eject button fails.

Ok, after looking more closely at the issue, here are the details:
In Lucid /usr/share/gconf/defaults/20-edubuntu was a dangling symlink
when doing a fresh install. Jonathan made an SRU to fix that just after
release by fixing the symlink to point to somewhere that actually
exists.

I believe I have the same issue. I originally reported it as the current
duplicate Bug #1791659.
The issue is as described here: the night light mode turns off as the
screen starts dimming right before it blanks. The mode then needs to be
turned off and on to work again.

inconsistent. With a different brand, the original workaround (turning
night light off and back on) works, without needing to unplug the
monitor.

Mode timeout is 5 mins and Sleep/Alternative Low Power Mode is set to 20

Okay I just did some more testing on only my built-in laptop display.
It is not the "dim screen when inactive" setting that breaks the night light,
that works fine, the screen is dimmed at once, and the night light is still

I was trying to connet to the GNOME IRC server (irc.gnome.server), but I
can't get any connection. No error, it's just stuck connecting. I tried
to switch back on Freenode, but it won't connect either.
Plus, I cannot change anymore my server pref

Well, I finally managed to make idle working, after
installing/reinstalling from PPA, killing some processes and so... Can't
reproduce anymore, I switched to Lucid and it works well.
I'll try to make some further tests with idle, sorry for not providing
info on that bug and thus making it invalid.
