Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: totem-gstreamer
Trying to play any media file, I am getting the error message "Cannot open
resource for writing".
In the console I see:
ALSA lib confmisc.c:670:(snd_func_card_driver) cannot find card 'Snapper'
ALSA lib conf.c:3479:(_snd_config_evaluate)
I do not know how to estimate the usefulness of some piece of
code/function. Bonjour is handy when people for some reason cannot be
connected to external jabber server (and local server is overkill).

In my case the problem was related to the ldap nss authentication. dbus-
daemon is running as messagebus user while libnss-ldap.conf is not
readable by anyone except root (600) - so dbus-daemon could not
authenticate. Changing permissions to 644 fixed the connection problem.
