Well. My installation of Ubuntu 20.04 is one week old + all the updates
and it is still happening occasionally. I just did what I did a year ago
and I can reproduce the bug again and again. See attachment for a

this one: When switching between users, either Gnome or X crashes. The

I like that idea very much.
Actually, I discovered DevHelp accidentally when I was trying to build a
GNOME-specific Zeal analogue (since Zeal code base is really hard to work with,
and the application is quite unstable). I've even started development of a
portable C-library to work with docsets.
I've contacted the Kapeli developer and he thinks it will be great to
support docsets in DevHelp or to have a docset->devhelp2 converter.
However, it's not allowed to silently download docsets from the Kapeli
web site. We can either instruct user to download and install the
docsets himself in a us
I've implemented some very basic docset support on my local machine.
The main problem I've encountered is a significant startup slowdown when
there are huge docsets in the books directory. For example, the Java_SE7
docset has about 50,000 tokens which are loaded into memory by the
DevHelp on start
I've spent some time profiling and it looks like the issue cause is not
the docsets model construction but the tree widget rendering (I can't
say for sure without debug symbols). So I suppose I'll limit the tree
construction to specific token types (like Guide or Package).

This bug seems fixed in ttf-symbol-replacement for wine-1.3 from the
wine ppa, but is still present with wine-1.2 from this same ppa. The
wine's Symbol font overrides the original system one for the 1.2 branch,
but this no longer happens for the 1.3 branch. It can be checked in e.g.
Okular's "File-
Oh, it seems this ttf-symbol-replacement-wine1.3 package does not
contain any font at all! There is only a single "changelog" file in
/usr/share/doc, according to Synaptic... Then it is clear why it looks
"fixed"...

Indeed, the issue is with the unicode encoding. In my case, e.g., the
degree sign (U+00B0) was rendered as uppercase Upsilon which is wrongly
mapped in the wine's Symbol font by the same code. And wine's unicode
code for the degree symbol is U+221e, which normally refers to the math
infinity sign.

years, it worked fine. Some library was collected.
Then I upgraded to 14.04, and to 16.04 right away.

We are using this patch on 15k+ machines with i386 Trusty and all works
fine.
But we are using Ctrl/Alt+Shift for layout switching and GNOME Flashback
(Metacity) on most computers.

Any news on this? It affects not only layout switching, but also a lot of
famous and well used hotkeys, for example:
- ctrl+shift+T in Chrome (reopen closed tab)
- ctrl+shift+arrow in text edit
It is bloody unusable at the moment.
