from another perspective: the logo forces the panel to minimum height of 22 or
23 px. if you set it smaller than that, it just stays at 22/23.
if you remove the menu or turn of icons in menus off thought, it works as
expected.

hi Sebastien Bacher, the same problem is happend to me on Hardy.
I have installed extra language packages: italian, but still i have the same
problem.
