It took me a while to realise just what was happening, but it seems that
it doesn't automatically disconnect at all. Even across Empathy runs.

For what it's worth, I tested this with 440, 435, 390, and the Nouveau
drivers and all of them presented the issue. I did notice that during
the live USB (try), I could set the value.

checked, and behold it now works! Strange. I did nothing except open the
