When I open a video file, totem is sometimes crashing my entire gnome
session. The codec-type of the opened file does not matter nor the
location. It takes around 10-20 times of opening a video to get the
crash. After the crash, I am redirected to G

I am experiencing bad video playback performance/stuttering when playing
mp4/h264 video files.
It is not a performance problem of my system, because the cpu stays more
or less idle during playback. No problem with xvid, avi or other codec
types.
