I confirm both totem-mozilla and F-Spot suffer this problem on my Dell
Inspiron 6400 with the Intel 945GM graphics chip using the default intel
xorg driver in Gutsy. Disabling compiz stops this happening.

Reassgining it to gstreamer might help. Because it most definitely is
a gstreamer fault.

I'll second this - I can't find any way to make the windows resize
border bigger than (I think) 1px. Resizing windows is cumbersome,
frustrating and far too easy to get wrong. I'm running compiz-fusion
enabled from a stock Gutsy build, with almost no additions (ccsm is the
only change I've made s
Sounds like this is, indeed, resolution dependant. I'm running a 24"
Dell flat panel and its resolution is 1920x1200. This may be why only a
small number of people have hooked onto this issue.
To be honest, I've fixed this now, simply by installing the Emerald
manager straight from the Gutsy rep

Martin your issue sounds similar to mine. Interestingly mine seems to
always do it on the same songs, so it might be a problem with certain
tracks however I ripped all of my tracks the same way. I don't usually
run Rhythmbox minimized so I am not sure about the grey piece.

I can confirm this with Edgy (upgraded from Dapper), and also Fedora
Core 6 (I *think* this was upgraded from FC2, although I'm not 100%
certain about that, I didn't do the install).
Could it be related to upgrading as opposed to a fresh install? Perhaps

I created a new user and tested with that, same results. So it would
appear to not be a user-specific configuration problem.
Another few minor bits of information:

I can confirm this bug with 7.04 upgraded. Everything was working fine
before, ie sound-recorder was playing back fine in Edgy.
