Well, it seems to me that printing from a graphics program is basic to its
fundamental purpose. Therefore, without it the program is broken and therefore
it would appear to be a bug.
If I said that gimp had a broken dependency as it doesn't install gimp-print
would that help?

I commented out the grub boot image and rebooted - the terminals are now
readable.

I had this problem but a recent update seems to have cured it.
gnome-panel is now running normally.

I have the same issue with a nexus 5, and with marshmallow there seems
to be no other option than MTP.
What does the ubuntu phone use? I hope its not MTP because that would
just be embarrassing...
