Yes it happens every time I leave it open on that particular version of
ubuntu. It does not happen on my 64 bit system. We actually have 3
machines running ubuntu but the third one has not been in use for long
enough to know.

Yes it is weird.
Nautilus graphic stays on the screen but does not respond to clicks. I
use ps and kill to clear the screen.

An update. I ran nautilus for two days without a problem. I did not
use bst.linux the program that fails. I suspect that bst.linux 'leaks'
and corrupts other programs does that make sense to you? I understand
that bst was written and compile in Delphi. The last and I suspect final

In my case it was a miss behaving program, bst.linux, which is an IDE
for writing programs for Propeller. This program was never completely
finished and was last updated in March 2010.

I just tried to open lastlog in a gedit from nautilus. it failed and
gedit no longer responds.
