It works in Gnome. Gnome-keyring starts when I check mail and handles the
passwords.
In XFCE I have to enter my POP-passwords constantly. To me it seems like
gnome-keyring does not work with XFCE.

After upgrade to 9.10 from 9.04 on my Acer Aspire One with netbook remix, I can
not log in the normal way.
At the gdm greeter menu, I get the following error message regardless which
user I try:
"error initiating conversation with authentication system - general failure".

I found a fix for this in an older bug-report #203755 and commented the
@include common-pamkeyring in /etc/pam.d/gdm.
Now it works for me too.

Just want to confirm that the trick explained above works for me.
Disable 0.4.3.0 and installing 0.4.3.1 of the Folder Export add-in got rid of

I installed compiz and tried to activate the gnome-wm again as the second user.

It is reproducable everytime if I lock the screen and then try to switch
user from the gray panel of the screen saver. Switch user just does not
work. The screen blinks but I am sent back to the black screen with the
gray panel.
If I try to switch user from from my session using the user switcher
I still have problems to switch user via the switcher in the upper right
corner. I get an error message:
