Hmm, after writing a script which continously attaches strace to gnome-
session (and keeping it running in the background), the bug gets worse:
- It happens much more often
- After hitting CTRL-ALT-BS, gnome-session goes to D-State in ps -aux, I have

Yes, it does not start neither from the menu nor from an xterm.
It is version 2.16.0-0ubuntu1 (happened with 2.15.92..., too).
It does not "crash" with an exception, it exits gracefully with a non-
zero exit code, so there is no backtrace, and I cannot gdb it.

One more thing: AFAIK gnome-terminal uses a special Terminal widget,
which is also used by e.g. by update-manager to show the work apt-get
install does during upgrades. update-manager works flawless here.

Ok, I set up the virtual machine, and adapted the package status via
dpkg --get-selections etc.
In the VM, gnome-terminal works as expected, so my problem seems to be
caused by some incompatible configuration element left over from dapper.

I experienced the same just now, except that my secondary outout is a
bluetooth A2DP headset. After switching back and forth between internal
audio and the headset, and trying to adjust the volume, gnome-volume-
control crashed.

I just upgraded to 2.24.0-0ubuntu7, and rebooted afterwards. After
initiating suspend-to-RAM via the hardware keys (Fn+F4) and resuming,

hardy. After login, I noticed that vino-server uses 100% cpu on one

I use the free version of NoMachine NX (www.nomachine.com) to connect
from my home PC (current Intrepid, the one that had this bug a few weeks

my Cherry Evolution Stream keyboard worked fine. Since the upgrade to

Today, I got my new Mainboard/CPU/RAM, (Gigabyte GA-MA69GM-S2H), and

I don't know anymore. Usually, I have several NFS mounts, but normally I
unmount them before I ifdown an interface.

Hmm,t wo people (snafu109 and me) both having nvidia-glx and Xinerama,
and having this same problem. If that is not a coincidence?
As snafu109 has a fresh install, I rule out the bug being a result from
my constant updates since dapper. I'm quite busy this week, but ASAP
I'll remove the second car
I also tried it out.
Using Xinerama, g-t does not start. Just commenting out Xinerama, it
works. Reenabling Xinerama, fails again.
