Shimi, I think your solution is a temporary workaround - and I thank you a lot
for it - but it cannot be considered a fix. In fact disabling xv means losing
hardware acceleration and overloading the cpu, which is not good : (

Felix thank you for your help, but unchecking
/apps/metacity/general/capture_before_unmap in gconf-editor didn't solve
the issue, at least not for me :(

I've made a "killall notification-area-applet" launcher on my panel, so I just
have to hit it after I launch a qt application and everything works, that's how
