I've got the same problem. I don't even have the US keyboard layout
installed and yet, upon each login, the layout is set to US. Manually
setting it back to the correct one (Finnish in my case) works but after
a reboot, it's wrong again. Very annoying indeed.

I can confirm this fix solves the same problem on a 64-bit system
recently upgraded from Oneiric to Precise.

I have a fairly fresh Lucid system installed from scratch over Karmic.
In Lucid, I often experience that the lightning-fast boot presents me

It seems this bug is a duplicate of bug #555169 so I'm marking it as
such. So far I have good experiences with writing a new xorg.conf from
the NVIDIA X server settings application. I'll wait a little longer

Papukaja's tip about using gdmsetup to change to automatic login, then

I thin I've got this too. Opening 'Computer' launches Nautilus but
double-clicking any other folder opens Brasero. This appeared after my
first (intentional) Brasero project since upgrading to Lucid. Simply no
idea what has happened or why. Any help would be appreciated.

I opened Nautilus and right-clicked on an arbitrary folder. Under "Open

this..." check was toggled on. Now, folders open with Nautilus as they
should. Let's see how long it lasts...

Actually, under right-click and "Open with Other Application", it
doesn't say "Nautilus" but rather "File browser" (or whatever it's
called in your system language). After doing this once and clicking
"remember this", my problem is still gone.

Once you have Nautilus open, e.g. by typing nautilus in a terminal, you
can navigate to and right-click on any of the objects in your Places
menu and choose "other application" etc. This made my folders open with
