Potential fix below. When I ran 'gnome-appearance-properties' from a terminal, I saw a few errors like: /usr/bin/compiz.real (core) - Warn: No GLXFBConfig for depth 32 To resolve this issue, I added to following two lines: Option "AddARGBGLXVisuals" "True"
