In dapper, sometimes I can't open Rhythmbox. CLicking on the icon
doesn't do anything.
After investigating a bit, I noticed that, when that happens, issuing a
"killall rhythmbox" fixes the problem.
So, it seems that, sometimes, when closing RB

by right-clicking on the notification icon, and choosing 'quit' while
RB's window is hidden.

I finally found the culprit: the bug came from a local custom-made
website (http://localhost/...) I had visited before and that contained a
favicon.ico with PNG data in it (instead of ICO data). The favison.ico
was in my cache, and anytime I typed an address containing "local",

I have gnome-calendar installed on Ubuntu 19.04, and gedit is still
displayed as the only available choice in the default app settings. The
workaround was to run the following: gio mime text/calendar
org.gnome.Calendar.desktop
Now gnome-calendar appears as the default (and only) calendar app...

upstream code. When upstream (here GNOME) chooses to modify its own code,
Canonical should respect the developers and not patch the software to make it
act like they desire. If the sofwtare isn't considered good enough by
@seb128: OK, sorry, just replace Canonical by Ubuntu everywhere in my
post. But my opinion stands.

Now that there's an Ubuntu-Gnome distribution, the patch should be
reverted so that Rhythmbox works as expected in Ubuntu-GNOME. And stock
Ubuntu should "fix" Rhythmbox by having a rhythmbox-unity package or
something like that.

- I click on Firefox icon to launch it.
- While Firefox is loading, I click on a terminal and start typing text.

Jaunty (compiz 0.8.2), and, on this computer, compiz is behaving
