I tried using pavucontrol and got a message saying "Connection failed:
Connection refused". alsamixer seems to work fine

checked, PA is up and running... I've had the same behavior in a
friend's computer... now, pavucontrol says "Connection failed:

I think that the problem here is that Nautilus stills shows "MiB"
instead of "MB"
