In Utopic, with evince 3.14.1, evince doesn't crash anymore. But
rendering of the second page onwards halts for a while.

I have just had this error while opening some pdf files from Firefox.
One of them (http://www.docv.gva.es/datos/2010/09/06/pdf/2010_9553.pdf)
has crashed evince. Nonetheless, once I have tried again it has opened
the file without problems. So, the error hasn't reproduced.
In kern.log I get:
evinc
Happened while adding/removing elements to panel.
