This isn't fixed in Ubuntu Yet. We need a SRU fix for hardy. Perhaps the
0.8.2 packages from intrepid will work on hardy?

When i return to my intrepid ibex after inactivity the black screen is
frozen and i can only recover the PC by rebooting. CTRL + ALT + F1, F2,
etc... is not working either.

Forgot to mention. It just happened yesterday on a clean install of
Hardy with no 3rd party packages installed at all. So still a live bug.
