I have the same problem with an USB-Stick. I'm running a plain Ubuntu with KDE
installed on top.
The critical thing is, that if I answer twice "yes" I get two konqueror windows
and one of them has root permission!

I already switched back to Thunderbird. TB has its issues, too. But I

If you disable/uninstall gnome-shell-extension-appindicator or disable the
legacy tray icons option, you have to log out of your active gnome session and
re-login again. If you do not log out, the bug will still occur.

I have a suspicion that I cannot verify, though. It might be that the new
version of evolution is not backward compatible with older caldav
specifications.
I stopped using evolution and use Thunderbird and Lightning. There are some
glitches but overall it works.
