Milan, I think that removing audio group is not a good idea. There are
at least 2 reasons.
1. It might affect a lot of system components at least udev, libmtp, alsa which
might cause regressions.
2. It would prevent group based access control to the audio device - mind that
/dev is dynamic, so c

since /dev/dsp is acl controlled, access to it is granted to the user

It seems to be working fine for me. However automatic subtitle loading

Sebastien, Could you ask upstream if there is any other reason for not loading
subtitles for a file ending with .txt, please ?
This very behavior, loading .txt as well as .srt subtiltes, is implemented by
some other players such as mplayer and xine (and as far as I know a couple of

Chris. So what is the problem then? DK exports apropriate methods to

It seems that it is fixed upstream (gnome 2.30), I have no opportunity
right now to test it though.
For previous ubuntu releases a workaround is possible, similar to n3hima

/etc/gdm/PostSession/Default:

I confirm that. It's still present in 10.10.

Pedro, I wouldn't say its incomplete. I suffer from this bug too. I'll
try to find out if this bug is still present in Maverick by the end of

should be investigated anyway shouldn't it?

2. subtitles are messed up,
3. It takes a lot of CPU!!! (about 20% on my ancient sempron).
