It seems the best workarounds so far is either:
a) Reverted to an older compiz as described in #116 (disables Unity).
b) Use the command >> killall -9 "notification-area-applet" << and reload the
applet when prompted. Do it a couple of times and hopefully the icon will
appear.

I'm running Hardy beta, and experiencing the ugly font rendering in Evince.
The same document looks fine in xPDF, but for some reason Evince wont display
the smooth fonts.
I have following font packages installed:
xfonts-base xfonts-100dpi xfonts-75dpi xfonts-scalable ttf-freefont
msttcorefonts
I forgot to tell that the PDF I'm having problems with uses common MS
fonts (included in msttcorefonts), non-embedded, type 1.

OK, I've told them. But the bug was marked as obsolete, when I had only tested
with pygtk 2.13. I don't feel confident that this is not a programmer error, as
I am a beginner with gtk programming, and only a python hobbyist. But my demo
program is fairly simple. Everything that happens, happens
The demo program works as expected on Solaris 8, with Python 2.5.1 and
(probably) pygtk 2.10. So it's not a programmer error. Remains to see if
the error is in pygtk or in gtk.

I have the same problem. For me, it appeared when I upgraded Ubuntu to
8.10 about a week ago. I can move the window using the mouse. I can
change focus using the mouse. I cannot resize the window, nor change
focus using alt-TAB. If I do, the desktop freezes. After a while, it

account on my laptop in order to test this bug. No problems on that account. My

Previously, due to a hard disk error, libnss3.so was missing - which
caused nm-applet and empathy not to start. After a forced reinstall of
libnss3 both started working again yesterday but tomorrow, after my
system resumed from standby, I only got the message that empathy had
crashed.
So, maybe a

e-mails), but I can not 100% confirm this.
I think since the update to mbox, I might have that problem but I'm not
sure.
Any help appreciated. It's my first bug report, so please be patient
