For me lid close detection worked in 9.10 for Suspend, but did not work when I just wanted screen light to be turned off (it stayed on). No difference whether plugged or unplugged. Now, after an upgrade (not new install) to 10.04, it stopped working on my hp mini 2140 entirely. -- HP 2140 Lid Cl
