I select multiple files extension .rs and open it in gvim from the right
click menu and it opens them in multiple gvim's this is the only file
type showing this behaviour

OK to make it even clearer
1. I set my XDG_DATA_HOME to ~/.config because another program needed it that
way.
2. I expected both Trash and the place nautilus looked for the trash to
move to ~/.config/Trash/
3. Trash did move to ~/.config/Trash/ but nautilus cannot find it any
more.

Oh it added a lot of stuff I do not know where it got those but I
suspect it was from this box rather than the box in question

I don't know when exactly but I can only surmise after a recent update
the machine stopped screen saving it's set to go off after 10mins but it
just sits for hours without saving

date. my gnome-screensaver version is:

I upgraded to 25.04 from 24.10 on this box (it all works good on another
box) and I just get gdm3 crashing I have installed sddm (and lightdm and
one other) and neither gnome shell with Wayland nor X11 will work all
options crash I installed Kde-plasma and that works from sddm
just got a partial upgrade and it's all fixed
