I'm just saying Ubuntu's visualizations (audio) do not look all that
great at times. For one check out the xbox 360's standard
visualizations e.g. http://blog.hvidtfeldts.net/media/neon9.png ,
http://www.codinghorror.com/blog/images/neon-xbox360-visualization.jpg .
They look quite better; and I am
But it's only after installing Compiz... And I would imagine any user
who installed Compiz would want an easier area to access it. Also don't
you find that, after installing Compiz, having no radial selection box
selected in Visual Effects look strange?

I'm not actually a developer. Relating to this bug I just listen to the
music and sometimes look at the visualizations. Honestly, while looking
at them, many times they do not follow the music and do not look that
great.
To be honest though the quality is increased greatly when one selects

About a year ago when I would install Compiz I would see a Compiz option
(link to the package) in the "System" -> "Preferences" -> "Appearance"
-> "Visual Effects" area. This is now gone. Why? That is my question;
if confused.

This looks REALLY stupid (and I have no graphics on since I have been
playing a lot of StarCraft recently - it lags it a tiny bit with
graphics).
However the Compiz option (the one I added in) used to be there...

How can adding simple-ccsm into Compiz result in a broken Compiz? It
works flawlessly, explains Compiz better, and integrates Compiz with
Ubuntu much better. My opinion however - I am not a developer.
Thanks for the package name in any case.

Okay... "System" -> "Preferences" -> "Appearance" -> "Visual Effects" is
pretty replicable. If I've ever seen a "Do that" list from myself it's
that one.

Also, I disagree with low... This is where all the standard users can
find extra visual mediums for their desktop.

I find Totem has some okay visualizations sometimes, like this
