It sounds to me that the installer package is doing weird things and perhaps
adding unwanted keyboard maps as a default...then this layout becomes a
system-wide default that cannot be removed or changed!

I have tried what you just described, but it does not work for me...First off,
I never selected the option "choose keymap for every window" and the
system-wide option was always available and selected.
Still, I cannot get rid of the unwanted keymap, which will always reappear
after reboot. Damn!

I tested this with hardy last week as well and I did get alarms for
exchange calendar appointments, provided evolution was running. If
evolution was not running, I only got alarms for local calendar
appointments.

I am running 7.10 and also still have this problem (had it in 7.04 too).
I have found the only reliable way to get alarms is to forcibly shutdown
the evolution components when restarting evolution. evolution --force-
shutdown; evolution. If I do this, I seem to always get alarms and my
appointmen

When burning a data CD, the progress bar displays also the remaining
time before the end of burning.
But few minutes after the beginning of the burn process, this time
information disappears, and only the position of the progress bar g
it, hopefully, there is no need to change the initial language
setting, though it needs sighted assistance at the moment. In the boot
menu, you may want to select the Netherlands language + the Belgium
keyboard + the screen reader option. Then, Orca talks with the dutch
voice of eSpeak.
