Public bug reported:
Affects: hal libhal-dev (Ubuntu)
Severity: Normal
Priority: (none set)
Status: Unconfirmed
Description:
This has been fixed in upstream versions of libhal.
When compiling NetworkManager from cvs as of today (3/30/2006) i get
this error:
gcc -DHAVE_CO
It causes a failure in compiling the current cvs of NetworkManager, althought
you can get it to compile by removing -Wshadow from configure.in.
The error is as reported in bug #37355 a dupplicate of this bug. (my bad for
not searching finding this bug first).

Ok, I did what Daniel van Vugt (vanvugt) suggested above:
edit /etc/gdm3/custom.conf and uncomment the line:
#WaylandEnable=false
Then I took the two package upgrades for gnome-shell-common and gnome-shell and
the system booted successfully this time.
