This bug is more serious than previously though. I tried "extracting"
from a scratched CD on my dual core Intel Core 2 Duo running at 2.33
GHz. The "extraction" appeared to be frozen for twenty minutes, and the
entire time, my load average hovered around 4.58!!! I couldn't even
double click an icon
Is there a guide anywhere I can read to help me rule out various
configuration settings and narrow down the trigger for this problem? I
have upgraded to Lucid and I am still experiencing this problem :(
