I upgrade to 12.04 a little while back, but have been using my headset
quite a bit recently - without any problems. I'm afraid I can't throw
any light on when it was fixed, but it is working for me at least.

I am not sure whether this will help anyone, but I have just checked my
laptop, which is also running 11.04 (the comment above relates to my
desktop).
The laptop was last updated on 28 June, and works fine.
The desktop has had 3 updates since then and exhibits the problems
described in #27

I have changed nothing, except to apply updates, and now things seem to
be working. Has this been fixed or has it just gone away? Anyone else
still seeing the problem?

This is more than just "nice to have" for me - I use the headset /
microphone extensively for speech recognition. This bug has completely
removed that capability.
