I have the same problem. Launch f-spot, click the import button, crash.
Launch f-spot, click slideshow from menu, crash. I've attached log
files for f-spot run in debug mode for these. System:
Ubuntu 10.04 LTS
IBM Thinkpad T60 2007-AY6
uname -r
2.6.32-26-generic
