I just installed Maverick alpha and had this. The error message made
sense to me and I fixed it like this:
mkdir ~/.gnome2/evince
touch ~/.gnome2/evince/last_settings

Rhythmbox works fine with my daap share from my (Debian based) ReadyNAS,
and allows me to make a playlist from the tracks in the daap share.
But when reopen Rhthymbox, the playlist is empty! :(
