if dock transparency is set to DYNAMIC,
dock opacity is triggered by DING extension in Wayland.
Works as expected under Xorg, dock background stays transparent while
DING is enabled.

Sorry for commenting again, maybe best workaround is installing older
Ubuntu fonts ( taken from 20.04 ) as listed below where ubuntu_initial
are now default in 24.04 and ubuntu are the older ones.

Not being able to change the default font for whole interface is quite annoying,

I can think of 2 ways for ending confusion.
1. Add the packaging type to name of app

My « issue » here really is not about snap.
But about software center that do not clearly show when app is a snap
and therefore let people install them without pointing to a 3-4 steps
pieces of advice about how correctly setting a snap.
Nowadays end-users learn they installed a sn

Issue is about app-store not being clear nor helpful enough.
One may end with confined app without knowing how to tailor it to

that stupid and ridiculous ellipsis.
Upstream seems not to want to merge those because these days they are
working on a new app grid - where ellipsis is still a thing.

I had « the bug » once yesterday.
Maybe I can narrow down a bit its context.
After using some sessions on the machine ( meaning : all sessions work
and I'm able to switch between all of them, using « change user » ) I
went back to the login screen where one can chose an user. But I had to

Well renaming $HOME is questionable, at least, depending on how you made it.
And the names of usual folders inside $HOME follow some conventions ( XDG,
freedesktop ) which are expected by your desktop environment and system.
It's probably your ~/.config/user-dirs.dirs file which has been emptied

Hi,
see picture attached.
There are only 2 files in the folder, as shown by ls in terminal.
But Nautilus shows those files twice ( 2× 2 icons. )
Going back and forth or refresh window in Nautilus brings back to normal
view with expected 2 icons.

I did use some drag and drop between « desktop » and Nautilus.
At some point, drag'and'drop a file between desktop and a Nautilus
window created symlink instead of moving or copying item.
