I also just encountered this same issue. After installing evolution-
mapi and attempting to add an Exchange 2007 account, everything appeared
to authenticate and save successfully, except the account never actually
appeared
My mistake, contacts and my calendar still did not work until rebooting,
but now those are all syncing as well.
