I narrowed it further down: I must have 'something' to do with gnome: - If I switch to tty1 and do "echo 'mem' > /sys/power/state" I can suspend more than once - If i do "echo 'mem' > /sys/power/state" from a Terminal within Gnome I can't Also the problem vanishes if I use LXDE instead of Gnome.
