I solved my problems
both with the sound in speakers
and that the login periodic didn't work
I changed from the upgraded version of 12.04
to an edition on disk - bought from Linuxpusher.dk
so everything is fine

Have you tried to see if they are visible under System - Settings - Main
Menu - Education? If that's the case, can you enable them, and
successfully launch the application?

I can confirm that Totem freezes when loading a video file that has a
subtitle associated, and the auto auto loading of said subtitle is
enabled. This however only happens if I open the video directly by
clicking the file, not if I open the file via Movie - Open.
